Digital Transaction Signing (SIGN)

Emue’s SIGN solution provides remote digital transaction signing capabilities to ensure both the legitimacy and integrity of all remote transactions.

This solution incorporates a tiered approach to transaction signing, which is sufficiently suitable to guarantee the integrity and legitimacy of all transactions an organisation deems worthy of signing and is ultimately capable of mirroring the conditions of legal non-repudiation currently deployed in the physical world.

All Emue based devices, such as credit cards, Cell phones, PDAs and virtual software based devices can be deployed with the SIGN capability.

The SIGN feature is activated in one of two different ways, allowing for both convenience and variable signing capabilities.

If activated directly on the device, without any authentication challenge being presented for initial input, the user will be able to immediately key in the variables as determined by the device issuer.  The number of input variables allowed for SIGNing has to be specified at the point of device personalisation and can be established as either one or two input strings plus the user’s PIN.

If activated via Emue’s Reciprocal Authentication (ECHO) features, for which an authentication challenge is required, the SIGN capability can specify either one or two input strings followed by the user’s PIN.  The authentication challenge determines the number of variables required for signing through the SIGN feature.

Therefore, if SIGN is activated directly, the device will have been pre-configured to accept either one or two input variables and the user’s PIN.  However, if activated through the ECHO feature, the device issuer may generate an authentication challenge which determines whether one or two input variables and the user’s PIN will be accepted by the device.

SIGN is available as a capability of the Emue Citadel, Fortress and Garrison product ranges.
