PIN Generated OTP (PASS)
All Emue based devices, such as credit cards, Cell phones, PDAs and virtual software devices feature the unique ability to generate a one-time-passcode (OTP) with the input of the user’s PIN. This PASS facility adds a further layer of security for solutions requiring OTPs for online authentication.
PASS is the only PIN Generated OTP on the market today that enables users to self-reset their Emue device by using Emue’s Reciprocal Authentication (E-RA), 24x7, in the unlikely event of the PASS falling out of sequence with the primary authentication server. This significantly extends the potential life of the solution and reduces the administrative burden commonly associated with other OTP based devices.
Use of the PASS feature depends on the enterprise deployment strategy and includes:
- SSL/VPN remote access, with optional physical access convergence;
- Multi-dimensional stronger online authentication, when combined with Emue’s Address Filter (AF) and
- Significantly improved Point-of-Sale (POS) security when embedded within, and deployed as, an ISO compliant multi-function credit/debit/ATM card.
PASS exceeds industry and regulatory mandates relating to stronger dual-factor authentication but comes with an additional array of multi-channel identity protection and payment integrity features, making the one solution highly cost effective when compared with point solutions only capable of stronger online authentication.
PASS is available as a capability of the Emue Citadel, Fortress and Garrison product ranges.
